Amaryllis of 2011

My yearly ritual of drawing and painting Amaryllis. I love the process. From box to bulb to planting and then poof, a stalk. An inch a day sometimes more. Then a big bud. In no time at all a giant flower head pops out. A top heavy bulbous red flower, head, face with delicate stamens dangling down that are yellow and powdery.
