Celebrating 40 Years at Castle Hill

Things have been quite busy as Summer is really here on Cape Cod. The temperatures today were low in the 80's will a nice gust of steady wind. Which feels great, though out on the kayak a bit much. Too much work, but so beautiful.

Threw a big 40th Birthday Party last night for Castle Hill's 40th Anniversary.  It was a really nice event. Not a big fundraiser, but a fun birthday party. To thank all of those you have made Castle Hill a wonderful community Arts Center. Joyce was there. The founder. Chris Kelly make a beautiful delicious cake in the shape of the tower that she donated. Ben & Jerry's from Eastham donated the ice cream.

Dana adding the candles!

Here is the whole thing! Thanks Chris of Sweet Baking in Wellfleet

A good crowd watching the very fun band!

This is Andrea Eisenberg and Shirley Glasser having some fun. Shirley who uses a walker was seen dancing a bit with walker! Both of them went to SUNY Purchase (where I went to Grad School, and both have beautiful Sculptures in the Gardens at Castle Hill

Here is the Chandler Travis Philharmonic - fun band

I thought this was a chocolate rooster off the top of the cake, and I ate it and it was NOT Chocolate and I don't know what it was. Very gross.

We had a Installation that got built as the night went on. The birthday cake and the tiger-woman popping out if it was by Zahra Kahn and Tim Winn. It grew and grew. Lot's of people & kids made art in there and left their mark!

Got better as the night went on.

I felt sorry for the blank canvas and then a pig popped out! Kind of fun to paint with acrylics.
Here is Zahra & Tim now!
So all went well. People drank Margarita's we had wine labels make with a new 40th Anniversary Label of Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod Wine. 2 box set & 2 wine glasses were $40 bucks, such a deal.
Also Ptown Parties threw together some great Mexican food. I made the fab salsa! I think people had a good time. Brian took on the squeezing of the limes and making some great margaritas, Erin took on the door with Katie, Dan floated and took care of the little details which were many. I shmoozed, danced, had a few drinks and had some needed fun!

Now I need to go make some art!
